AOI can stand for: “Automated Optical Inspection”, “Area of Interest”
Electronic Image Stabilization
A technique to stabilize video frames by shifting the image location across video frames to counteract motion. EIS uses pixels outside the border of the visible frame to provide a buffer for the stabilization technique.
Start of Frame [SOF]
A symbol used to indicate the beginning of a transmission.
Region of Interest
The portion of a camera sensor input or image that is being analyzed.
Relative Illuminance [RI]
“A photometric measure of the luminous intensity per unit area of light traveling in a given direction. Values are normalized to [1, 100] for a reference white.”
PTZ
Pan, Tilt, and Zoom
Presentation Time Stamp [PTS]
A timestamp in a video stream which is used to achieve synchronization of the separate audio/video elements.
Optical Center [OC]
“A point on the axis of a lens that is so located that any ray of light passing through it in passing through the lens suffers no net deviation and that may be within, without, or on either surface of the lens.”
Middle of Frame [MOF]
In the context of image pipelines, Middle of Frame (MOF) refers to the temporal position within a frame where the majority of the image data is captured. It is typically used as a reference point for various image processing operations, such as image stabilization or autofocus.
MIPI Camera Serial Interface [MIPI CSI] [MIPI CSI]
A hardware standard for communicating with IC camera sensors.
