“Staged rollouts”, often used in the context of firmware updates, refers to the process of gradually releasing firmware updates to increasingly large subsets of devices or users. Over-the-Air Update [OTA]
An Over-the-Air (OTA) update refers to the process of updating device software using an internet, cellular, or satellite connection. Software updates are received directly to the system without needing to connect the device to a computer (or other device) via a wired connection.
Delta Update
A delta update is a type of software update that involves only those parts of the software which have been changed from the previous state. This is in contrast to the standard update strategy, which is to send a complete download of the entire program.
