Secure Hash Algorithms [SHA]

A family of cryptographic hash functions that are commonly used in computer systems.

Serializer/Deserializer [SERDES]

A pair of functional blocks commonly used in high-speed communications to compensate for limited input/output. These blocks convert data between serial data and parallel interfaces in each direction.

Secure Digital Input/Output [SDIO]

An electronics communication bus.

Real-Time Clock [RTC]

A computer clock that keeps track of current calendar time.

Port-Mapped I/O [PMIO]

I/O that is accessed using a port value and special assembly instructions.

Programmed Input/Output [PIO]

Can refer to MMIO (memory mapped I/O) or PMIO (port-mapped I/O)

Open-Drain

Refers to a current sink on a FET output.

Open-Collector

Refers to a current sink on a transistor output. Functionally the same as an ‘open drain’.
