The New Site is Live!

We’ve been hard at work over the last month, and we’re excited to announce that the new website is live! Readers will notice the following changes:

  • We’ve split some items out from the old Resources menu into a new Learn menu
  • The Glossary has been expanded with additional terms (more to come!) and improved definitions
    • Defined terms will show up as a link to the glossary page
    • A tooltip will show the definition when you hover over a linked term
    • Glossary pages will also feature excerpts from the Wikipedia entry for that term (if one is available)
  • The Hardware References and Software References pages have been merged with the For Beginners page
  • 25% of our existing articles have been updated to fix broken links, add tables of contents, update headers, address grammar mistakes, add additional references, and more.

We’re also excited to launch our membership program. Our mission is to bring the state of firmware development out of the software dark ages by accelerating and enhancing the learning process for all embedded systems developers. If you’re on the cutting edge, support us by becoming a member.

We’re offering two tiers of membership: Community Member and Educational Member.

All members receive access to a members-only forum and our Embedded Systems Field Atlas, a continually-evolving curated guide to exploring the world of embedded systems. Check out these example Field Atlas entries for a small taste of what the atlas offers:

The Educational Membership is targeted toward dedicated learners. Members receive free access to Embedded Artistry e-book collections, free access to select courses, and significant discounts on other educational content.

Courses are currently under development and will be released as they are completed. Here’s our initial roadmap:

  • Setting up a cross-platform embedded build system (Free for Educational Members!)
  • Building Testable Embedded Systems
  • Building a Reusable Project Skeleton (Free for Educational Members!)
  • Don’t Build a Shell: A Modern Approach to Device Communication (Free for Educational Members!)
  • Automated Software Quality Enforcement for Embedded Systems

We’ll be opening up the doors for our Educational Members to work directly with us on testing the course materials as they are being developed. Members who help test courses will get direct feedback and coaching from us during the process.
Because the content is still under development, we are offering a discount on memberships through the end of the year. Your membership rate will never be increased as long as you maintain your membership, so sign up now and continue to enjoy the reduced pricing.
Thanks for taking this journey with us!
