As the program grows, it places more demands on memory, uses more processing power, takes up additional flash storage, etc. To keep up with the performance reduction, we often need to upgrade our hardware to get an acceptable response from the system. Fundamentally, this performance decrease happens because of a poor design resulting from long-term and ad hoc maintenance.
