29 January 2025 by Phillip JohnstonGerman company AVM, which produces networking equipment, was sued by German software developer Sebastian Steck in 2023 for failing to provide complete source code under the lesser GPL (LGPL). AVM pulled a common move: they made source code available but left out key pieces. Steck’s initial complaint was that scripts and details for cross-compilation and installation onto the device were missing.
